Database Driven Relational Object Model (DDROM)

ShipConstructor 2006 implements a revolutionary new technology called DDROM™, harnessing the power of relational databases. We have managed to make relational design as easy as driving a car.

The Product Data Model (PDM) geometry is stored in the ShipConstructor database and linked through relationships, thus creating DDROM objects. DDROM objects are also linked to various attributes such as materials, weights, drawings, revisions, and build strategies. This means there is one and only one location for all geometry.

This a sample of Sentinel SuperPro dongle emulator for ShipContructor v2008. It support all possible modules of software such as Structure, ProductHierarchy, Nest, AutoNest, ProfileNest, Pipe, Equipment, HVAC, Penetrations, Reports, Hull, NC-Pyros, ShipCAM. This emulator sets features level to "Unlimited" or any other "Level" what you will decide to select (for example, "Level9"). It allows to set (or remove) any expiration date and number of concurent licenses. This emulator is compatible with SSI License Manager to work as flexible license manager on network. The CAD drawings are just like viewports into the database, letting the user focus just on the detail of interest. This can be compared to using binoculars to see items of interest much clearer while filtering out things that are not of interest.

Start with the waterline for the outline of a deck. Next, draw the lines representing the seams and butts as well as any holes. Just click inside of any 'region' in the drawing and select a plate stock to define the part. ShipConstructor automatically generates the toolpath, part name, weight & CG, and generates the relationships between all entities. Now, you can simply move any butt or seam and all related parts will be updated instantly.

Consider you have to design several frames that are similar but have different hull traces. Simply design one of the frames, then replicate the geometry to the other frames and exchange the hull trace. Designing many similar frames now only takes a fraction of the time.

Any drawing (frame, deck, longitudinal) can be easily linked to other drawings making major design changes easy. Consider moving a deck up by several hundred millimetres. All frames and longitudinals linked to the deck will automatically update.
